Boards Minecraft: Xbox Edition Quick tip on how to find slime chunks. User Info: MenuWars. I'm bad at Maffs. User Info: Arnora MenuWars posted I'd never thought of this before and haven't heard anyone else mention it, so here goes. Create a superflat version of the world you're using in survival and then mark the locations where they spawn.
Obviously have to test this theory but in principal this IS a sound idea. I know from experimenting that slimes are abundant on superflat so the only real issue is determining the exact co-ords of the chunk but if you take that into consideration and dig excess you should be on target. You need to make it go along the back wall, so it should be 16 blocks long and 4 blocks wide. Get buckets full of water. It is recommended you have 4 buckets if possible, then dig a 4 block hole in the ground and put the water in so you can keep refilling them and not have to run back up.
Fill the pit with water. It may be hard to even out if there is uneven bedrock, but just keep experimenting with it and it should even out soon. Go to the top floor and break the blocks that are above the water pit below. This will create your water trap, because slimes cannot swim. Put a one block walkway on both sides of the water pit, both on the top and bottom rooms.
Put a ladder on one of the walkways in the bottom room to the top room. Be sure sure you have two rooms. The bottom floor should have a water pit and walkways on both sides, with one having a ladder leading up to the top.
Wait for slimes to spawn now. It could take as little as minutes or as long as hours. If one spawns, bring it towards the water pit and lead it into it. As slimes cannot swim, this will kill it. Be aware they should keep spawning after that! Remember that it may take a while! If you are playing in survival mode, it will not be possible to break bedrock. However, if you somehow did either using a mod or in creative mode , you will instantly die. Yes No. Not Helpful 8 Helpful Belle K. Yes, you can do this in any version.
However, slimes are usually found easily in Swamps. Register Don't have an account? History Talk 0. Trivia Slimes are abundant in Superflat Worlds as it's only 4 blocks away from bedrock and very well lit up. Small Slimes are very easy to kill - they die with one hit. Slimes tend to be more hazardous near ravines and cliffs as they can push the player off. The Player. Categories Mobs Hostile. Take out the torches; like any other monster the slimes need low light to spawn. Beware that other things may spawn there too, it's only when you get extremely deep that slimes have a CHANCE of spawning.
